Para mi cumpleaños hice una fiesta temática... de los años 20!!! Quise torturar un poco a mis amigos y los obligué a disfrazarse... Bueno, a algunos no hizo falta porque ya suelen ir disfrazados. He hecho una recopilación de las fotos que han salido mejor, aunque no sale todo el mundo, la iluminación era tan mala que sale todo borroso!

Puede que si apagas la luz y miras por la ventana, todavía la encuentres allí. Temes hacerlo, pues en el fondo sabes que lo que queda de ella es ya un mero reflejo de lo que fue. Creías que estaría siempre ahí, provocándote y curándote las heridas. Tenías más que suficiente con ello, no necesitabas nada más. Ahora te haces mayor y algo te dice que estás perdiendo facultades. A la vez que aprendes olvidas, tu vida no es más que el truco de un ilusionista. Huyes, sin saber de qué. Buscas, sin saber el qué. Intentas llenarte de pensamientos que mueren antes de que hayas podido comprenderlos. Entonces, llenas tu estómago de pasteles y tu armario de vestidos relucientes, para luego vomitar y tirarlo todo a la basura. Dejas que los cascos martilleen tus oídos, pero los pensamientos te persiguen allá donde vayas. Te cuesta respirar. Subes el volumen. No hay cambios, tu mente grita más alto. Vuelves a subir el volumen. Dejas que el dolor se establezca en tus oídos. Por un momento parece que los estás venciendo. Vuelves a subir el volumen. La música ha desaparecido, tan solo oyes un pitido y el dolor. Se han ido. Apagas la luz y decides mirar por la ventana: puede que la Luna siga donde la dejaste.

She saw a beautiful kimono in a market, and the seller told her that it was owned by the japanese actress Sada Yacco. She was an inspiration for artists as Klimt and Poiret, and now she has inspired again this beautiful collection by Elisa Palomino.

ALMA AGUILAR
She was inspired by the ambiance of a mediterranean hotel. I love both the most glamorous pieces and the most romantic ones, and the vintage touch that she has given to the whole collection.

Circus and Rococo

I love when normal brands are inspired by the same things that inspire me as a Lolita. I found these interesting images in a book, and what a surprise, I was making two outfits with the same inspiration: circus and rococo!

The two first imges are from Tous, I always hated this brand, and I still don't like what they do, but I loved this photoshoot with Kylie Minogue! I wish these brands could design something similar to their advertising campaigns, sometimes.

And these images are from Paula Cahen d'Anvers, kids sections are always better than adult ones, we also have the right to play and have fun! T_T

“Corría por el bosque, huyendo de ellos. Hacía semanas que me había alejado de la civilización, no había ninguna luz allí. Nada que indicara presencia humana alguna. Por eso me asusté tanto cuando vi ese destello. No había humanos allí y por eso pensé que Ellos me habían encontrado. El destello se hacía cada vez más grande, se acercaba, hasta que se convirtió en un foco de luz tan fuerte que no podía mirarlo directamente, corría con los ojos cerrados. Ya no recuerdo nada más. La siguiente imagen que tengo es en la nave. Era un sitio blanco, muy blanco, la luz seguía cegándome, solo pude entrever algunas siluetas pálidas manchadas de sangre. Esos seres experimentaban conmigo y luego me ponían en el congelador. No estaba del todo consciente, sólo recuerdo mucho dolor, hambre, pesadillas y el frío del congelador. No sé cuánto tiempo estuve allí, pero luego me llevaron de vuelta a la Tierra, me dejaron en otro sitio, donde ustedes me recogieron.”

Qué le ha sucedido?

La recogimos en Mauthausen, doctor. Misteriosamente, es de las personas más sanas que encontramos, pero no tiene ni la más remota idea de lo que le sucedió en realidad.

Primero se fue desvaneciendo. Su calor huía, y el frío me invadía por dentro. Desde entonces mi corazón ya no late, sólo hace tic-tac.

Vaya, no es ruido para un corazón.

No sé qué tengo en mi interior, pero no creo que sea un corazón.

Es frío, noto resortes y clavijas moviéndose. Pero no sé qué es.

Estaba triste y cansado, como yo... Solo que yo no puedo irme, pero él parece que sí.

Creo que solo está asustado. Sólo quiero decirle que las cosas irán bien, siempre que él esté dentro de mí. No me gustaba sentir dolor, pero el vacío que siento ahora es inimaginable para mí, una persona no puede vivir sin un corazón. Cuando dejé a mi familia fui incapaz de sentir algo. Habría dado cualquier cosa para sentir pena, dolor, nostalgia, pero sólo corría por mis venas una especie de hielo metálico. Cada día se me borra de la mente uno de sus rasgos físicos. Habían pasado tres años. En todo ese tiempo no me había atrevido a hacerlo. Temía encontrarme con un cadáver, temía que hubiese muerto. Pero mi nostalgia pudo más que cualquier temor. Apagué las luces, abrí la ventana, y dejé que la luz de la noche invadiera la habitación. Bebí de ella. La Luna no estaba ese día, pero de algún modo me acompañaba, como lo había hecho siempre. Perdóname, ¡yo no escogí abandonarte! Me puse los cascos, subí el volumen, y me apoyé sobre la repisa. Había descubierto una nueva melodía, era un buen momento para la resurrección. Una voz suave nos envolvía, los violines me conectaban con ella, sólo la Luna y yo existíamos en ese pequeño y gran universo. No se había perdido. No del todo. Débil, resurgía de entre el olvido y el miedo. Aquella profunda tristeza que era capaz de llevarme a la absoluta felicidad. Jamás he sabido cómo, ni jamás lo sabré. Pero nunca más dejaré que muera, ningún temor me lo impedirá. Todavía queda algo de lo que fui una vez.

Hace poco tuve la suerte de ver "Victor Victoria" por la tele. Si no la habéis visto todavía os la recomiendo muchísimo, es muy divertida. Julie Andrews hace de Victoria, una cantante que no consigue trabajo. Para salir de la situación, se hace pasar por transformista y consigue trabajo en un cabaret, de modo que es "una mujer que finge ser un hombre que, a su vez, finge ser una mujer" xD Es lo que hacía yo cuando me disfrazaba de Mana-sama LOL

Otro que mola es Vivienne Sato, me encanta cómo dibuja!

Maecenas without a budget 1: Fantasyland

My dream has always been to become a Maecenas. Although I love art, I don't have any special talent. For this reason I love to promote other artists who are unknown but very talented. Maceneas are very influential persons in society, they choose the artists that they want to promote certain aesthetic and even political values. Well, I don't have any budget to do it, but I am conformed to do it my way, even without a budget.
So, here it is the first Maecenas without a budget post: Fantasyland!

Fantasyland is the project of Lucía Sánchez, a spanish lolita photographer. Her images are very magical and dreamy, I have written an article about her:

Un día quiero volver a perderme en el bosque olvidado...

Caminando entre los árboles puedes encontrar una melodía que un día fue perdida por alguien...

Algunos colores son tan brillantes que hasta cobran vida y te rodean, junto con los animales.

Una corona de flores y un bello corazón te convierten en la Reina del lugar.

Se dice que en el bosque olvidado, las muñecas cobran vida. Puedes verlas paseando, o descansando tranquilamente sobre las rocas.

Estuve allí realmente o fue solo un sueño?

Lolita Freaks Ressurrection!

Any of you remember Lolita Freaks? (perhaps the spanish people)
I want to ressurrect it, I think that it is a good idea since many new lolitas think that our subculture is just a fashion. I don't think that you need to dress lolita to be it, Lolita is ALSO a cultural movement: you can write, you can draw, you can take photos, you can design... Or you can enjoy other's art! You don't have to follow Baby's catalog!! Just be creative in any way that you feel comfortable. What do you think about it? (I hope that I will be alive tomorrow... Don't kill me... LOL)

I also have another project, I want to make a list of links, not only the links that everyone knows, I want to investigate a little bit more and find beautiful things like these:

Sin embargo, un día, uno de nosotros tendrá un momento de lucidez, uno solo, pero será suficiente para despertar algo en todos los demás. Una persona no puede cambiar el mundo, pero un conjunto de personas tiene el poder de conseguirlo, y eso es lo que vamos a hacer.

Rococo furniture for my dolls!

I'm so happy! I found rococo furniture for my dolls! I bought a sofa, a little golden table with a clock, a bed and a beautiful wardrobe, with a mirror and a clothes hanger inside!! I wanted to take better photographs, but this is the best I could do:

Now I need rococo clothes for them, but I don't know where to find them, perhaps in ebay?

New fabric, new tags!

New fabrics! I bought these to make totebags, the doll prints are very cute, and the chihuahuas making bento boxes are very funny! This is the result:

I have added them to the catalog, with a new lay-out, perhaps it is less confusing than the other one.

And I also made a new flier, that I will also use for the tags, I found this lovely rococo picture in an old typography book:

Pero hoy quería hablaros sobre "El loro de Flaubert", una novela que me aburría mortalmente al principio pero con la que me tronchaba de risa al final. Yo es que soy una persona de extremos. Os pongo algunas de mis citas favoritas, por si hay alguien a quien todavía le queda alguna neurona que no haya matado la tele y/o los videojuegos, y quiere leer:

"La palabra humana es como una caldera rota en la que tocamos melodías para que bailen los osos, cuando quisiéramos conmover a las estrellas."

We had a meet-up with 30 lolitas!!! And it was carnival, so I wanted to make a twenties look. It was my first try, and I am horrible making hairdos (I had very long hair and I had to make it seem short LOL). These are some photographs that I took for inspiration, the point of fashion was a 1920 cabaret:

Tutorial: sewing machine cover

My sewing machine cover was really ugly and it was broken, so I wanted to make another one. I looked at this tutorial to make a bag from Gosurori vol.9. You can take a look here, there's more scans and patterns. But I can't scan more because my computer is very slow T_T
Anyway, perhaps you'll find something useful.

The tutorial to make a sewing machine cover is even easier, but you can also make a bag with it, here it is!

1. You have to cut only one piece, in the photograph it is folded, but it should look like this:

2. Fold the piece and then sew the sides as in the picture (in the picture is wrong, because in fact you shouldn't see the print when you fold it).

3. Then sew the corners as showed in the picture:

4. Now you just have to overlock and sew the hems, and it's finished!

This is what it looks like, now I love my sewing corner! xD

Hi! I've been very busy these months, because I found a job in the bookshop of a museum. I love it! It has lots of interesting books, there's pop surrealism everywhere, it will be my ruin!! So, I wanted to show you one of the first artists that I discovered there, he is Scott Hove and here there are some of his cake sculptures:

First, I wanted to eat all these cream and cherries, but then, I discovered that it was the cake who was planning to eat me!! OMG, I want these shoes *_*
